This is my small collection of watches with so-called full diamond dial..... is it real diamond??? Nah, a lot of this is either crystal, Cubic Zirconia or maybe just glass or even plastic.... but they are sparkling beautiful.... Some of the full diamond watches cost a lot... but for me is not the value of the stones or crystal... is the amount of time involved in crafting the dial, the bezel and sometime the bracelet too.... It is in a way a form of art.

This is a Rolex Replica using a 21 jewels ETA movement.... It comes with sapphire glass. This is actually an educational piece made by local watchmaker and jeweler.... It is more of a sentimental value to me....

Bulova Super Seville Day Date

This is initially a plain silver dial used watch that I picked up in an auction site. After receiving it and safe kept it for a year or so, I noticed the dial has worn off with time. Luckily, my watchmaker friend  found a piece of Bulova full diamond dial in Singapore... we noticed that the dial is with yellow gold colour base and is usually more suitable for two tones or gold watch.... After much discussion, we adopted the put it in and see what happens sort of attitude.... Here is the outcome and is surprisingly acceptable... ohhhh we also changed the 3 hands from steel to gold colour to match the dial. Beside we replaced the old stainless steel rim to a diamond with sapphire bezel to make it more appearing. The next step will probably be changing the glass into a sapphire crystal.....

Grand Seiko 5646-7000

This is one of my 56GS. It was produced in early 1970's in Suwa Seikosha. The 56GS marked the era of mass production with the aid of robotic automated process. There are also concept of standardization of design and movement. Therefore the 56GS shared identical movement with King Seiko, and Lordmatics. However the GS movement had a better finish and was tweaked to GS standard accuracy.

What I like about this watch is the slightly widebody stainless steel case. Also the hour, minute and second hands are slim and quite characteristic in matching the white plain dial. The only downside of this particular watch is the aging stain at the 3 o'clock... nevertheless it is still a magnificent time piece. 

The5646A is a 25 jewels adjusted to 5 positions day-date movement with an amplitude of 28,800 beats per hour.

This is an all original watch... seeing is believing and one will never know how beautiful a GS is without holding it............ After the 56GS.... Grand Seiko perished for a while and Seiko putting all emphasis on Quart watches.... It was almost 20 years before Seiko reintroduce the best of its time pieces; the Grand Seiko range of mechanical watches..... 

Citizen automatic chronograph

These watches are produced during the early 1970's as a countermeasure to the Seiko bullhead chronograph. The 8110s are also nicknamed Citizen bullhead. 8110 is equipped with a 23 jewels automatic with quick set day-date function. It is also a flyback chronograph with 2 subdials (30 minutes and 12 hours).  With crown signed 'CTZ" and 2 push buttons on the 12 o'clock position of the watch. These chronographs are actually value for money comparing to Seiko bullhead and their Swiss counterparts like Omega and Tag Heuer of the same era. 

Exacron Chronograph; Valjoux 7734

Here is my first 7734 acquired through ebay bidding. This watch is in mint condition with the original dial and stainless steel case and bracelet intact. Valjoux 7734 is a manual winding 17 jewels swiss made mechanism. The only different between valjoux 7733 and 7734 is that the 7734 has a date function. I am trying to find more information on the manufacturer Exacron at the moment.... Anyone with more info can kindly email or drop me a message, thanks.

That is what Neil Armstrong going to say if the Chinese Fairytale comes alive in the moon..... So we won't have the fancy saying of "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." In Chinese fairytale... there are a man "Wu Gang", a goddess Chang-e and a jade rabbit with a tree on the moon.... Neil Armstrong and his crew as well as those NASA engineers and scientists at their Houston base would collapse with disbelieve!!!!

Why talking about Neil Armstrong???? Well this is the first watch wore on the moon by mankind.... Whether Aliens wear any watches? 

Omega Speedmaster Professional "Moon watch"

I purchased this watch from a friend's shop as second hand. I am never a big fan of Omega to start with... and Speedmaster is the only model I am willing to pay for. Prior to this I have another Speedmaster automatic. This watch is equipped with the omega cal.1861 movement. Omega Speedmaster professional used Cal.861 movement until 1996. The 18 jewels rhodium plated cal 1861 is based on Lemania 1873 movement and has a vibration rate of 21,600 vph. The most beautiful part of this watch is its caseback which has the words "Flight Qualified by NASA for All Manned Space Missions" and "The First Watch Worn on the Moon".

My lord Marvel 5740-8000

Lord Marvel is boy sized with case diameter of 35.5mm without crown.  The design is plain, simple and clearly nice. Its crown is not signed. One of the most beautiful things on Lord Marvel is its curved dial. The soul of Lord Marvel is the high grade seiko in-house 5740C movement. 5740C is a 23 jewels hand-winding movement beating at 36,000 bph. It has daily accuracy of  around 6 seconds per day.

I believe I can fly.....

Yeap a song produced and performed by R. Kelly! I always remember this part of the lyric..."I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky....." The very moment you believe, the sky is the limit.... Sky is the main theme here as I am talking about a vintage pilot watch. Seiko Sliderule aka Calculator aka Pilot ref. 6138-7000. Sliderule is one of the rarest variant of 6138 family and among the most expensive vintage seiko chronograph.

I just received this watch from the Philipine... it appears that everything is in good condition and is in original state apart from the bracelet. This watch shared the same engine with Seiko Bullhead, Speedtimer, UFO which is the 6138. 6138 is evolved from the Seiko 6139 a single register chronograph movement that was introduced in 1969.

There are two variants of 6138, namely 6138A (21 jewels) and 6138B (23 jewels). This automatic seiko in-house movement is beating at 21,600 bph and it can be handwound. This double register chronograph was introduced in 1970 with feature of quickset day and date.

The main attraction for this watch is its sliderule bezel that can be used for calculating vital figures for aviation navigation. Wait until I am qualify to fly an airbus A380 then I can tell you how this is operated.... Another mystery for me to find up is my watch movement stated 6138B and 21 jewels....

Anyhow, is never a bad choice to grab a hold of 6138 as it is one of the world's first automatic integrated chronograph movements. It is at least as good and as reliable as the Swiss manufactured cal. 11 and El-Primero movements but at a fraction of their price.

My sliderule is currently under quarantine. Wait until it is fully serviced, I will try to take a better shot of it.
