Titoni Cosmo King 2000's era

Titoni Cosmo King 777

This is the newer version of Titoni Cosmo King. This model has a totally new look case and a newly designed bracelet. It totally evolved from the orthodox vintage Titoni Cosmo King's look that ruled for more than half century. This design came into the market in mid 1990's.

I bought this watch in 2004 for RM 980 before the price of Titoni sky-rocketing. The multiple folds price hike was in conjunction with change of dealership, and a change in brand positioning and marketing strategies of Titoni. As a loyal Titoni collector, I do feel like being taken for a ride.....

The stainless steel case is measuring 37.5mm in diameter and 8mm in thickness with a gold plated semi-fluted bezel. No much change with Titoni's dial since dinosaurs rampaged the earth..... The champagne gold dial is of fine quality. The dial looks fantastic with a red cherry blossom Titoni's logo just underneath the day's window. I always love the black sweeping second hand in a Titoni Cosmo King.

All the newer model Cosmo King come with scratch-proof sapphire glass with cyclop lens above the date's window. The newer bracelet is of good quality. It is made of stainless steel solid links throughout.... This watch has a folding clasp with two push-in buttons. The Titoni's name and logo are engraved on the clasp.

Like all Cosmo Kings, the newer design also has a screw in stainless steel backcase. This watch is water resistant to 10ATM or 100 meters. With newer technology, of course the backcase is slightly nicer than its ancestors.

The crown is a screw in type. Like the rest of the golden parts, it is gold plated.

Despite some changes in the outer appearances, the inner beauty of Titoni Cosmo King remains unaltered. The in-house assembled 25 jewels ETA 2834-2 has a beat rate of 28,800 bph and a power reserve of 38 hours.
The built quality of Titoni is exceptional and the timekeeping is remarkable. However currently a model like this is retailing for someone near RM 3,000 and that is like a 200-300% increment in a span of 10 years........... Inflation, maybe.... weakening of currency, highly lightly...... Greed???
