Pepsi again: Citizen Diver 200m

Citizen Diver NY2300-09L

When talk about Japanese diver watches, most enthusiasts will lock on Seiko divers like SKX 007 and White or Orange Monsters. May I present to you, a more humble, more price friendly, even better quality just my 20 cents worth.... Citizen Promaster 200M Scuba Divers watch.
Despite being called a Pepsi coloured bezel, to be honest with you, I have a hard time to tell whether is blue or black colour. Even the dial is stated as blue by Citizen..... The stylish red blue themed sport rotating bezel is uni-directional with silver numerals and markers.

Compares to the usual bulky and aggressive looking Seiko divers, this Citizen NY2300 is smaller and more gentlemen in appearance. Its case diameter is 38.5 mm excluding the crown, and with thickness of 10.5mm. A bit small for a diver watch, but it does sit on the wrist more comfortably. The case is full stainless steel in matt/gloss finishing. The watch is equipped with soft black rubber strap that has a polished stainless steel buckle.

This watch has a dark blue dial with super luminous hands and dot markers. The wordings on the dial is in gold colour except the 200M is in red. The day and date display is at 3 o'clock position. The watch has screw lock stainless steel case back and crown which ensure it is water resistant to 20 bar (200M).

The watch is powered by Citizen Miyota 8200 21 jewels automatic movement. The Legendary 8200 movement can be hand wound and is highly reliable. By any measurable standard, Citizen 200m Diver NY2300 is a good quality timepiece at a reasonable price. It is classical, elegant and sophisticated looking watch that can fit into whatever activity you are geared up for.
