Seiko Turtle Padi SRPA21

Watch that fit for Scuba Diving Instructors: Seiko Turtle Padi

The golden yellow and the ever green of the Paddy/Padi crops. Padi is the local Malay word. However, we are not taking the agriculture lessons here......

This is more like it. PADI is the organization that trains and certifies open water divers. So it is not surprising that Seiko diver watches trying associate with it. I have wrote twice about Seiko Turtle Reissues.

First Here~~~ Seiko Prospex SRP775

then Here~~~ Seiko Prospex SRPC49K

Therefore I won't brag about this Seiko Turtle PADI in length.

I bought this Seiko Turtle PADI back in Christmas season 2017. Yea, another Limited Edition...bla bla bla.....

So what is the differences between this one and the rest? First, its box has a stamped PADI logo

Secondly, it has the Pepsi bezel. The Pepsi blue dial or perhaps the Ocean blue dial has a PADI stated on it. The Lumed Minute hand has an outer red highlighted.

As with the rest, let's the photos do the talking.......

So after wearing this watch, we can start going Scuba diving.... nah, I hardly swim........

Continue to f*ck up: Titoni Cosmo King

Being Dumb

This is a subsequent post from Miscue.... Titoni Cosmo King 737-DB-SC from January 2018. I was so very happy with the Bulova Eminence watch case and think it would be a perfect match for my Titoni Cosmo King.

We managed to put the so called diamond paved dial and the Eta 2834 movement into the case without much issue. It looks alright despite the jigsaw shaped rim looked somewhat odd.

Life would be somewhat monotonous without any challenge.... True enough the original Titoni bracelet did not fit into this case. The bracelet was too small for the lugs. We tried after market Rolex style president bracelet, again it did not fit well.....

Then we put the new case for water sealed test.... To our dismay, the integrity of the stainless steel case was somewhat doubtful.... Water vapour just fogging the crystal. Although with a little bit more effort, we could overcome all obstacles but on second thought, this does not look like a Titoni Cosmo King at all....... Sigh.......

The whole exercise was a resources draining fruitless LPPL (nah, you don't want to know what this means!)  experiment.

Chasing dream... broken dream....

Me and the watches that I have been chasing 我和我追逐的夢

"我和我追逐的梦 擦肩而过

永远也不能重逢....."

Let's kick start this year with a post about the watches that I had tried on over the last two years...... Is almost half a year gone in 2019 and yet this is my first post.... should be ashamed of myself........
Disclaimers: I do not own any of these watches, nor do I have the resources to own one :P

Luminor Panerai Pam 90 or Pam 00090

This is a classic looking automatic Panerai with a 42 hour reserve. It has a date function on 3 o'clock and a power reserve indicator at 5 o'clock. The date window has a cyclops and at the 9 o'clock position is where the second hand ticking away the time. This watch is powered by the 21 Jewels OP IX certified chronometer movement. OP IX is based on valjoux 7750 movement. This watch has a water resistant of 300m.

Montblanc Flyback Chronograph 7059

This is a solid 42mm stainless steel mass. This gorgeous black dial with silver subdials Montblanc is from 2000 era. What is stunning with this watch is the double big date. The watch has a 200m water resistance and has a 27 Jewels  Kal. 4810 905 movement  that based on Valjoux 7750. I nearly nailed this one, just that someone with deeper pocket fetched it without much hesitation......

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref. 5167R-001 Rose Gold

When I was young, all I wanted is a Titoni Cosmo King.... During my college year, all I wished is a Rolex Datejust 1601..... After started working, I vowed to own a Gold Rolex..... without realizing soon the desire is to own a Patek Philippe......
The desire grows with your ability and is a never ending quest for something that is more expensive, more exquisite... In one sense, desires aspired one to move on, to improve, to excel and to outperform an old self.............

Patek Philippe is considered the best money can buy. Their craftsmanship is applauded by watch aficionados Worldwide. I tried this Aquanaut at a friend's shop two years back.....

A beautiful girl must also has an equally beautiful inner soul. The in-house Caliber 324SC has 29 jewels and with a 45 hours power reserve. All the meticulously finished canvas are crowned with a finely polished 21K gold rotor with the Patek's logo engraved.....

IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph IW377714 Le Petit Prince

What attracted me is its stunning big metallic blue sunray dial and its red coloured second hand. The price is somewhat modest as well. IWC has been emphasizing that the watch band is from Santoni calf skin. The 43mm stainless steel case is brush finished. The hour and minute hands are luminous filled.

The movement for this watch is the classic Valjoux 7750. IWC improved and renamed it Caliber 79320, which beats at 28,800 vph, contains 25 Jewels and has an approximate power reserve of 44 hours.
Is every boys' dream to be a Pilot...... Gliding in the sky, sailing through the clouds....... Grown up knowing you have to forgo the pilot dream; perhaps having a Pilot watch is a consolation......

Rolex 16233 Datejust

A famous watch and highly sought after. I always love the ivory Arabic numeric dial. This dial is actually an enamel. The 31 jewels 3135 is a reliable work horse.

Rolex Daytona two tones 116503 with black diamonds dial

A watch born out of racing, made famous by Mr Paul Newman... this is one of the latest Daytona. This Cosmograph is equipped with the 44 jewels 4180 Movement. Rolex claimed the watch is more reliable because they significantly reduce the number of components for this watch.

Rolex 15000 Date

I always have a fatal affection for watch with black and gold dial. Could not resist to try this beauty on. This petite beauty is measuring 34mm in diameter. Sitting on my huge wrist is really a show of Beauty and the Beast........ The nobel heart Cal 3035 ensures an everlasting relationship.....

IWC Aquatimer Chronograph IW376803

This is a big bulky chunk of dive watch. There is no elegance in this IWC.... it is about boldness and ruggedness. This is a watch for the outdoor, the adventurous and those living dangerously. Sadly I am none of the above..... The 44mm stainless steel case can withstand water up to 300 meters depth.

Like the Le Petit Prince Pilot Chronograph, this is also powered by the 25 jewels 79320 Calibre. Despite being a huge watch, it is surprisingly comfortable in wearing with the rubber strap.

Rolex 18238 Daydate with rare Lapis Lazuli diamonds dial

This Rolex 18238 is from the 1990's era. What makes this 18K Rolex President unique is its rare Lapis Lazuli stone dial with applied arabic numbers 6 and 9 each set with a round brilliant cut diamond.
Lapis Lazuli is a bright blue metamorphic rock consisting largely of lazurite, used for decoration and in jewellery.
18238 is powered by the 31 jewels calibre 3155 with double quickset function and has a power reserve of 48 hours.

Chopard Mille Miglia Gran Turismo XL Power Control

Is always about race, race car and watch.... After googling only know that Mille Miglia was an open-road, motorsport endurance race which took place in Italy twenty-four times from 1927 to 1957.
This 44mm watch has a black index dial with polished and luminous applied hands and hour markers as well as a date display at the 3 o'clock position and a semi circular power reserve indicator at the 6 o'clock position. The indicator is designed to look like a petrol gauge.
The strap is mimicking the 1960's Dunlop Racing Tyre Tread and giving the watch a more racing chromosome..... The automatic calibre A07.211 movement is based on Valjoux 7750 and is COSC certified.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Ref #26470ST.OO.A101CR.01

This watch was pretty beat up.... It was in the workshop ready for some tender, loving, care. This has been nicknamed the Vampire. I think mainly due to its colour scheme of black and red that resemble Count Dracula's costume. I love the Royal Oak but the price just too much for me.....

The thing I love most with AP Royal Oak is its in-house movement Calibre 3126/3840 Manufacture. This is a 59 jewels beating at 3 Hz (21,600 vph) and a power reserve of 50 hours.

IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar IW503302

If I hit the Jackpot tonight, this will be the first watch I am buying tomorrow..... This one is purely breath-taking. The 18K 5N Gold case just too much a seduction. The silver plated dial and the detailing of every parts of the watch aroused the animal instinct of preying on this beauty. It is what lust is all about after being turn on.......

The IWC in-house 52610 Calibre is a Masterpiece. It has 383 components and 54 jewels. It beats at 28,800bph and has a 7 days power reserve..... Whatelse can one ask for?  I am totally speechless.......

Finishing this post with a Crouching Tiger..... Ready to strike.... ready to earn enough Benjamin to fulfill my destiny!
