Since when I have an Edox???

Edox Delfin

Edox was found in 1884 by Christian Rüfli-Flury, an exceptionally gifted watchmaker. Since then, Edox Watches has produced leading-technology high-precision timepieces with passion, ingenuity and a meticulous attention to details, enabling Edox to become over time a leader in precision sports watches on sea and land.

In 1961, Edox became the benchmark brand for water-resistance with the launch of its Delfin model, a revolutionary timepiece that was water-resistant to 200 meters due to its sturdy, protective gaskets, double case-back and a special shockproof design. The Delfin set a new standard for shock protection and water resistance.

The word Delfin means dolphin. This name originates from both Greek and Polish languages.

This is an old advertisement on Edox Delfin.... yeah claiming to be the water champion......

See what I found in my dungeon..... a Dolphin, the Edox Delfin Automatic date with silver glazed dial, applied markers with luminous inlays. I love anything with red second hand.... It just gives the sporty racing impulses.....

This watch comes in very nicely engineered stainless steel case of 36mm x 40.4mm. Like most watches from the 1960's and 70's era, it has a acrylic crystal. Originally Edox Delphi has a signed crown with an Edox logo. Mine is a replacement generic crown with around the same size. I am going to look for an original crown to replace it.....

The main selling point for this Edox Delphi during its time was its capability of waterproofing to 20atm,

The backcase is screw in type with a Dolphin engraving at the center.

What impressed me is the protective anti-dust cap inside.....

The rotor is signed Edox, Swiss Made, and 17 Jewels, This is actually ETA 2783 calibre that beated at 21,600 Ah and has a power reserve of 45 hours. The date on this watch can be quickset.
